What We Do Differently Than Other Offices
Complete Your Procedures Quicker
We combine multiple procedures into one efficient visit. For example a patient requires, gum surgery, extractions, implant placement and a temporary bridge. In our office you can have all of these procedures completed in one visit while asleep if you so desire.
Use Better Extraction Techniques
When we extract a tooth, instead of telling a patient to bite on gauze to stop the bleeding, we suture our extraction sites with dissolving sutures. We repair the socket and rebuild the ridge using a bone graft. This prevents the 40% shrinkage that usually occurs and results in less bleeding, faster healing, and less pain. After healing, the replacement tooth is more life-like and easier to clean.
Provide Special Care For The Apprehensive
Apprehensive patients can be asleep for their treatment. In our office the patient is sedated by Dr. Port who is licensed by the State of NJ to administer anesthesia. The patient is given an intravenous line and just the right amount of drugs to achieve the desired effect.
Never Let A Patient Go Without Teeth
After extractions in almost all cases the patient leaves with an esthetic temporary in place so they are never without teeth.
Provide Expertise In Implant Placement
Implant placement is routine in our office. We have placed and restored over 7,000 implants in our practice since 1984. Dr. Port has developed techniques to place the implants in a quick and painless way without the need for sutures and in many instances the patient leaves the office with a temporary tooth anchored to the implant eliminating the need for a second surgical procedure to reopen the implant after six months which is the standard protocol.
Create That Beautiful Smile You've Always Wanted
We are experts in extreme smile makeovers. Usually these procedures involve esthetic shaping of the gums followed by covering the teeth with porcelain veneers. We have been doing these procedures since 1986. Our results have been fabulous. We use the same labs they do on television Da Vinci and Glidewell in Beverly Hills, CA. Please view our smile gallery.
Design Comfortable Dentures
Denture construction is becoming a lost art as dental schools are cutting back on instruction in this area and devoting more time to implants and saving teeth. However there are millions of patients living longer who are in dire need of having well fitted dentures. We enjoy working with patients who need denture care and often are asked to solve problems that other offices have been unable to correct. We use the finest teeth and materials to give our patients natural beautiful smiles.
Design Better Bridges
We use a special design caled the Equipoise partial denture. This design is esthetic because the clasps are retained on the inside where you can't see them. In addition when the patient bites down these clasps disengage from the teeth instead of loosening them like the standard partial denture. To prescribe these partial dentures our dentists have taken a special course and the dental office uses the special Equipoise laboratory. From a patient standpoint the comfortable fit and superior esthetics make these the Rolls-Royce of partial dentures.
Make Seniors Look And Feel Young Again
We specialize in senior smile makeovers. It's easy to create a beautiful smile for a 22- year- old with some spaces between her teeth. It is an entirely different story to make over a smile that has experienced many years of wear and neglect. A mouth that has a receeding gum-line, large spaces, missing back teeth, collapsed bite, with worn and discolored restorations requires not only dentistry, but artistry and bioengineering to rebuild. It is here where we create some of our greatest and most satisfying results. Nothing gives our team greater pleasure than to help a senior look and feel years younger and more confident. Improve Your Quality Of Life
Today many of our patients are taking several medications for diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease. Many patients are required to take antibiotics before they come to the dental office because they have had a hip replaced or a stent placed in a blood vessel. These patients require special care. Some must be treated in the early morning, others in the early afternoon. Some should receive oxygen during treatment, others require special types of novocaine (local anesthesia) or a combination of anesthetics. In addition, these patients require more frequent cleaning and checking because of their susceptibility to disease. It is very important for their overall health that their mouths be infection free. Oral infection for these patients can be life-threatening. It is also imperative that these patients are able to eat comfortably and chew their food properly to follow their low salt, low fat, high fiber dietary protocols prescribed by their physicians. We are experts in accomodating all types of health issues and have been very successful in helping these patients lead full and healthy lives.
